July’s Volunteer of the Month is awarded to:

Lynne Watkins

The United Way Volunteer Center is privileged to recognize Lynne Watkins as the July Volunteer of the Month.  Lynne is nominated by Carrie Coyne of Hearts and Horses Therapeutic Riding Center.

Lynne has been volunteering with Hearts and Horses for the past four years and has contributed her time and talents in many different areas.  Over the years she has helped with horse care, client care, Hospice camps, Ride-A-Thons, feeding the horses and many other projects and tasks that have arisen. 

Lynne has also played an important role in the development of Hearts and Horses’ volunteer program.  She helped to create the volunteer manual and has assisted with volunteer trainings.  Carrie Coyne said, “Lynne has been a positive force in the attitudes and abilities of the other volunteers.  She is always willing to train others and make them feel welcome.”

Lynne is always willing to share ideas and suggestions.  She drives from Platteville to Loveland several days a week to volunteer with Hearts and Horses.  As Carrie said, “Her contribution is priceless.”

To nominate a volunteer or group of volunteers, please submit a volunteer nomination form by the 20th of each month.  All winners will be honored by United Way of Larimer County by receiving a certificate of appreciation and their profile posted online for the entire month.
